Download the Brutha build for your platform. Researchers, writers, analysts, operators, engineers, and every other AI user can run a private instance. No shared server required.

Run the installer

./brutha-mcp install

Register the server with your MCP client and choose where your memory lives. No license key is needed for Brutha Solo.

SQLite is the default: nothing to install, just one local file. Prefer Postgres? Point Brutha at your own database, running natively on any OS.

You need the brutha-mcp binary registered with your MCP client, and a place to keep your memories. That’s it.

Update the app. Keep the memories.

Brutha replaces its binary in place. Memories and settings stay untouched. Restart your assistant after updating. Health, stats, and session-start reminders flag new versions.

Updates use GitHub CLI: sign in with gh auth login. Without gh, Brutha prints manual steps to download, replace the binary, and rerun brutha-mcp install.
